Great for some things where you'd benefit from a pressure cooker. Having to build pressure for cooking slows things down and conventional methods can work better. For example, it doesn't take long to cook rice in the cooker, but it takes time to build the pressure to cook the rice. Just cooking it on the stove top is about the same in terms of time. Things like pot roast and other items that would normally take a long time can be prepared much more quickly. You can also gain an advantage by sauteing your protein and aromatic, adding a liquid and pressure cooking it. How long these cookers will work seems to be a subject of great debate. Some people find they fail in a relatively short time, others are able to use them over the long haul.

First of all I was bait and swithched. This is a Modern Cooker not an Insta Pot. It worked great for 5 times and now won't power on. Tried to order a new circuit board but the manufacturer's website doesn't work. Would not recommend. Spend the extra money to buy a real one from a brick and mortar store that you can return it to if needed.
