If you are a fan of the series Cowboy Bebop, you will really enjoy the movie. Crafted by largely the same team that produced TV episodes, it fits into the storyline seamlessly, between episodes 22 and 23. The same killer music team is on the job as well. If you've never seen the series, the movie still stands on its own merits. The opening scene where Spike and Jet take down some petty crooks robbing a convenience store is a keeper all by itself. It's a great capsule introduction to the zeitgeist of the show. And the nice thing about an animated feature is that you don't have to worry about whether or not the special effects are any good. There are some action sequences in movie that are well worth the price of admission, showing what can happen when the creative team has a little more room to work. Good story line, strong characters - this one is a keeper.Read full review
This movie, taking place sometime between episodes 22 and 23 of the TV series, brings back all of the style, tones, and edge that made the show an icon. The characters are reprised by their original voice actors, and Yoko Kanno's soundtrack dazzles. This movie never falls short of the mark.

The film-length version of this celebrated television series is worthy. The DVD has extras and the choice of English or Japanese, both with or without subtitles. I watched it in English with no subtitles and it was excellent viewing.

Literally, this movie occurred between two episodes of the series. In that sense, its existence seems intended for fans who want to possess all of the series. Will I purchase it again on BluRay one day?
