The Beatles have always been the most acclaimed and popular recording artists in the history of recorded sound. 19 years after the successful release, "Live At The BBC", first was released in 1994, is the 2013 follow-up companion "On Air - Live At The BBC, Volume 2", another outstanding collection of tracks that the group recorded and performed for BBC radio broadcasts in the United Kingdom. There are alternate performances of songs that were featured in the first edition, songs that were never officially recorded by the group at any EMI sessions. Also featured are unique performances of many of their hit songs, such as "I'll Follow The Sun", "You Can't Do That", "P.S. I Love You", "Please Please Me", "I'll Get You", "Ask Me Why", "From Me To You", "I Saw Her Standing There" and "She Loves You". Plus, being released here for the first time are tracks such as "Beautiful Dreamer" and "I'm Talking About You". Another song, "Lend Me Your Comb", which had been previously included in the 1995 release "Anthology 1", is finally added to the BBC archives. The set also includes several bits of in-studio banter between the Beatles and their respective radio hosts. There is also a rare studio outtake sequence of the BBC recording of the song "I Feel Fine". Rounding out this set are individual interviews with each Beatle that were recorded for the program "Pop Profile". "On Air, Volume 2" makes the perfect companion piece to the first edition of this series. Overall, the wit, charm and undeniable talent of the Beatles clearly shines through, in its own special way.Read full review
This is the 2nd volume of BBC recordings. The included booklet is done very well. The engineers used better audio choices during the restoration process. Highs seem more open and lively. So much so that they also went back and remastered the original Live At The BBC recordings. This is next on my list to get. Both are wonderful sets for any Beatles fan.

Shows that the Beatles were excellent as a live unit when they could actually hear themselves play, and they sure sound like they are having a great time.

Hello everyone; It is really great that this "Live at the BBC Volume 2"came out. It is like getting a fresh breath of air. When you hear the quality of the sound it is if you are back in the 60's listening to it for the first time. This is what I like about cd's. You hear music the way it was meant to be heard. Without all of the pop's and crackles in the background. This Beatles cd set is better than other cd's that I have bought in the past because they continue to improve upon the quality of the music.I would like to thank all of the people involved in putting together this Beatles BBC Volume 2. They have done such a great and outstanding job. God bless Best regards Greg T.
