Added this Kodak 1.4x teleconverter to my Lumix FZ70 (55mm thread). Zoom is clear and pictures look good. Extended my optical reach from 60x to 84x, the Intelligent zoom from 120x to 168x. Great for taking bird photos from across rivers or high up in trees. It does reduce you 20mm wide angle as you have to zoom past the teleconverter lens, but it quickly unscrews if I need the wide angle shot.

This is a remarkable optic for the money. It is sharp corner to corner and it does not degrade the image of the lens it is mounted onto. It can save a purchaser many hundreds of dollars instead of purchasing a much wider prime lens. Although it adds weight and bulk, it is worth the tradeoff. Very superior antireflection coatings only found on the most expensive of lenses. Don't pass this up if you have a DSLR with an APS sized image sensor. Works especially well on 20mm prime lenses giving an effective 21mm 35mm equivalent lens on FX Format DSLRs. Does not need any additional sunshade or matbox due to the superior Multicoatings on front and rear lens surfaces. - D.K.A./danography
