Decided to Upgrade my Medion PC MD8828 (Motherboard MSI-7502 OEM) from 2007 which had a Dual Core E6750 to Quad Core Q8400. Took a little time researching best value for money Upgrade and decided on the Q8400 which matched Bus Speed & memory support etc. Installed CPU, a 10 minute Job, but initially CPU only running at 2 Ghz?, after some thought decided it was the BIOS limiting the CPU, so upgraded to the latest BIOS (Phoenix BIOS Release Date:01/13/2010) after that got full speed and the thing flew.! Windows 7 Experience Index Processor figures jumped from 5.9 to 7.2, which is close to i7 Processor territory. Matched this with upgraded memory & Graphics Card (all 2nd hand) and as it already had a SSD HDD now lowest score is 7.2, and the difference is very noticeable, all tasks complete much quicker, internet pages load much faster, like a fast new PC. All in all a very good Value for Money Upgrade (CPU was £19) and well worth it, but you may need to do a BIOS upgrade, which you need to think about. Good Luck for anyone who choses to do this after reading my review.Read full review
