This is an absolutely tiny, lightweight, inexpensive and surprisingly powerful head torch primarily intended for emergency use - the glove box of a car, side pocket of your hiking pack, your desk drawer, or for astronomy with it’s red light option. Comes with a water-proof capsule that also protects it from crushing and dust. (The capsule may be waterproof, but the torch is no more than water resistant). Explicitly NOT for caving, or any other activity where it would need to be on for hours, or where a super-powerful beam is required. It isn’t THAT powerful (few head torches are, and it uses a tiny watch battery, easily obtainable and not expensive, but too small for either power or longevity). Also makes an excellent stocking-filler.

Unless you're buying this to read a book whilst in bed don't bother getting that a candle would honestly produce more light. Then there's the build quality, the toggle switch for the different brightness settings snapped off on the second day and the printed labeling round it rubbed off by the third. Couldn't recommend this to anyone.

Seems to be excellent build quality, very compact too. The head strap is very generous, so will easily clear a helmet etc. The strap grips well and feels comfy. The switch has a good firm feel with positive clicks. The light output seems ideal for in-camp work or for walking. Claimed battery life is about one pair for a full 12 hour night march for example. Given how small the batteries are, carrying even a month’s supply is an practical (if expensive!) option, representing a 120mm long stack so comparable to a pair of 18650 cells. The red pod case seems good, would have many alternative uses.

Everyone should have one of these, even if only stored in your car so you can have both hands free to change a punctured wheel in the dark. I use mine to walk my four dogs at night. This evening I changed a fuel filter in my van again in the dark, so good to have light shine exactly where you want it. You can comfortably carry this headlight in your pocket , the case it's packed in is smaller than a wallet. Five stars.

Good emergency torch to pack away in my emergency road bag. Secure on the knowledge then batteries will last up to 10 years when stored, ready for use when required. Bright enough to walk / navigate by and reduced brightness option for close up work or red to maintain night vision. Small and compact. Only gripe is old version had a clip on capability which can be used on clothing / MOLLE / etc.
