Silca Elastomer Seal for Presta Chuck
These seals work great. My old seal had reached the point where it was a struggle to get any air at all into the tires. The new seal popped right in to the chuck, I screwed the chuck back together and gave it a go. The first thing I noticed was how much tighter the new seal gripped the valve stem. I started pumping, and Voila! The air went into the tire, just like it was supposed to, no leakage from the seal at all. If you've got an old presta chuck that doesn't seal like it used to, get one of these. They do the job.These seals work great. Does not work on some valves.
I the old days, Silca heads were the best you could get. I read about this new material, and expected these to be great. Not so. The old black rubbers may not have lasted very long, but they worked. This new red seal will only work with my smooth presta valve stems. Even so, I have to wiggle the head to get a seal. I am unable to get a seal on fully threaded valve stems. Sorry Silca, this one did not work well for me.I the old days, Silca heads were the best you could get. I read about this new material, and expected these to be great. Not so. Silca the only one that works for me
Fit my 23 year old silca presta chuck just fine. It works well and hopefully is as durable as my previous washer. I don't know if I'm the only one, but every other lock chuck that I've used doesn't stay put, winds ups cutting my finger and is utterly unreliable in filling my tires.

Review - Elastomer Seal for Presta Pump Chuck
I've used Silica pumps for years on road bike and track bike tires . I thought the press on chucks & replacement washers were obsolete. Was making my own washers which had limited life and was constantly having to tighten. These are doing an extraordinary job so far. Push on a short ways. No leakage. Interested to see how long they last. A little pricey.
