Magnaflow 180 muffler on supercharged LS engine
I have purchased several designs of magnaflow mufflers in the last two years, though these were the first inlet and outlet on the same side. The stainless exterior is a good thickness that resists bursting even with significant back fires. (Not so with other no name cheap stainless mufflers on eBay!). The packing on my non forced induction LS long travel sand car has lasted for two years, though it is gradually disappearing. The long term sound as a result is gradually creeping up which will require me to switch them out as there is a sound restriction where I ride. Nice thing though, lifetime warranty! These mufflers are on a supercharged LS and are combined with a 3" dual inlet outlet crossover magnaflow muffler. long tube headers, and two 2.5" inlet out same side mufflers, all ... At 3500 rpm free rev the decibel output is 94. Granted if you floor it under boost it is louder, though not excessive. The only issue I had with these is they are not available in 3". The perforated interior pipe is 2.5" as is the inlet and outlet. I set these up as a side exit, they worked very well, allowing me to take the two pipes from the engine and tightly package the mufflers adjacent to each other then have the outlet pipes take off at 90 degrees to the side of the truck.
