I am very happy with my purchase. We changed to an indoor vent as we have a problem with winter ice build up and dams on the roof above our covered entry porch which is where the dryer vent currently discharges. We are hoping this will solve most or all of the problem. It also solves the problem of lint collecting on our cedar siding in the covered entry porch and on the front door. The vent was easy to install although we had to purchase a longer vent hose for the unit to sit on top of our counter. I purchased this one over others because of it's smaller size. I have cabinets above my dryer and could not install it on the wall. The vent sits on top of the counter that is right next to the dryer and it aims straight out into the laundry room. I was not able to turn it so it would aim out into the hall without moving the vent to the edge of the counter and thus using up all the counter space. I have used it several times. It does not accumulate moisture in the laundry room which is 7' X 10'. We currently have the heat on. It does provide the softener fragrance in the house which I do like. I am not sure how the moisture will be in the summer but I don't expect it to be a problem as we always have the windows open during the day and we have a window in the laundry room that I can open. We rarely close up the house and turn on the air because I much prefer fresh air even if it is hot. It is extremely easy to clean the filter. You just turn the dial a few times, open the drawer and dump out the 1" of water. Put another 1" of water in the drawer and put the drawer back in the unit. I don't find the water to be annoying at all. It's only 1" and so simple and easy to do. I don't really like the look of the unit sitting on the counter but if it solves our ice dam problem I can put up with it. I have done about 10 loads of wash and I only change the water after 2 or 3 loads and that seems to work fine. I also pull off the front cover and wipe off the interior with a damp paper towel after 6-8 loads. I don't have a problem with any lint escaping except once in a while right in front of the unit which could be because I don't empty the water each time but it's not a problem. I am also paying close attention to humidity build up and that has not been an issue at all.Read full review

I installed it in my laundry room. I had to run dryer mostly twice. I have a dropped ceiling. The tiles were eventually saturated and are sagging in the frames. Between the moisture from drying and the water in the unit everything is damp. Laundry room has to have good air circulation. I removed the trap filter.

We had no option but to use an indoor vent for our dryer. In the past in other homes we have used a round or other type vent only to rehook up to the outside vent, disappointed. The others are messy and just not worth the effort. So when we had no choice in this home but to vent directly into the room we were concerned. We took the chance on this vent a few dollars more but looked like it might be the anwer. Writing here today because this is one product that deserves a REAL buyers review. This vent really works, no lint on the floor or surrounding area. Easily cleans off and hooked to the wall nice and neat. It is plastic but as plastics go seems to be an ok quality. I give this 5 stars today as it did solve our issue with no complaints. UPDATE: It is now Aug 2018 and this vent is still working perfectly.Read full review

Compared to the other devices on the market, this comparatively, is hassle free. Easy to install, easy to clean and refill (water). The one, very minor drawback, is that the water drawer tends to slide out when used on larger, more powerful dryer models. I have mine sitting on the floor next to the dryer and put a small, heavy object in front of the water drawer. Problem solved. Maybe future models could have a easy to use hinge, to keep the water drawer from sliding open during use. Otherwise, a great, affordable, we'll made device.

We added on a sun room and dryer vented into new addition. I ordered this indoor vent so my dryer could be vented into the wash room. Didn't really expect to be happy with it but I am ! Yes, it does add humidity when venting into a room but a small fan running while the dryer is running takes care of the humidity. I specially like the little hand crank that scrapes the lint from the filter on the inside. Good Idea! I first purchased another kind from Home Depot and what a piece of junk that was! I am very happy! Thank You!
