The A1048 keyboard is the only board I use because I wear out the aluminum keyboard with flat keys in a few months. I'm a fast typist & told I type like a crazy woman out for revenge. I wear the ink from the keys and leave indentations on the edges. I searched for the A1048 and found this listing with perfect feedback. I bought three on a Saturday afternoon and they delivered Monday morning. They are EXACTLY as described and brand new. I am typing on one now & was so pleased I ordered 3 more.

This is just exactly what I wanted, and it's working fine. The flat keyboards produce a multitude of typing errors for me. This one takes the rate back to minimal. I ruined my previous keyboard like this by prying off the space bar to clean out crumbs. I'll avoid that in the future. This has the apple label and part number - it's the real thing that works well for people who rely on keys that respond.

It works great.
I wanted an older Apple keyboard because the newer ones didn't give me the feedback that I liked. The older keyboards, with the mechanical keys, feel better under my fingers. The large keys also make my typing more accurate as I have large fingers and occasionally, on the newer smaller keyboards, I hit two keys at the same time.

Good, but obsolete
Good keyboard although...a really good mechanical keyboard should be "clicky"—this one is not at all. Moreover, the function keys are obsolete with respect to the current Mac OS (11.5) and are almost worthless. Still it's a good pre-owned value if you're using a ten-year-old Mac. No recommended for any other OS.

Nothing is as good as having a Mac keyboard
I have been using the keyboard for approximately 10 days and it is working fine. I replaced a apple mini keyboard because several of the keys weren't working. Having a full size keyboard is a huge improvement, especially if you learned how to type. I'm very happy with my purchase and I intend to just keep clicking the keys. Thank you. Apple should rethink it's current external keyboards
I use Apple and Mac products exclusively and cannot understand why the A1048 external keyboard is no longer manufactured. It is by far the most convenient and ergonomically conducive keyboard than any made by Apple. Unlike the current full size keyboards, the keys on the A1048 are concave and better suited for typing. The current keyboards are not made for heavy usage or for users whose fingernails are longer than the tip of their fingers evident by the indentions on the sides of the keys. Further, the ink wears away from the newer keys that are used most often within a period of weeks. I've typed on A1048 keyboards for several years before the letters wear from the keys. I have tried every type of keyboard made by Apple each of which are now stored in a closet for "emergency" usage only. ... Purchased to replace original equipment on an ancient iMac. Works as advertised, even though interior looks grimy through clear cover and I was concerned it might not work well. I'm super happy to have a working keyboard again for this machine that can't be retired or upgraded for workflow reasons.
