Amazing Player, a bit expensive but worth every penny
This DAP is exceptional... sound is similar to the Sony WM1A. This player is fast (Android 9) and although the SONY Music app is ideal for high res files (Flac, DSD, DSF) you can load any Android app you choose, including Tidal. I use Tidal High Res streaming and it sounds as good as my Flac files loaded on a 400GB card. The player is versatile, runs without any lag (+30,000 files in my library) , and sounds really great - easily comparable to the WM1A, AK240 tier of DAPs. The key to this player, as with any, is the earphone or headphone you use... I've heard many players with various high end in-ear or headphones. I use Acoustune 1551CU iems with an iBasso balanced cable and Campfire Audio's Andromeda's (2019 edition) with a 4.4MM balanced Sony MUC cable... both sound AMAZING... Having ... Good DAP
This thing rules. Great sound. Intuitive interface. Clean and snappy. Very ergonomic. Fits perfectly in one hand. I have owned many DAPs over the past few years: Sony NW-A55, Hidizs AP60 II, AP80 Pro, and AP80 Pro-X, Fiio M9 and M11 Pro, Shanling M2X and M3X, Hiby R2, R3 Pro Saber, R5 Saber, and R5 (gen 2) to name a few. This one is my favorite so far and the one that I plan to hold onto for a while. The only one that hasn't left me with upgraditis. No regrets.This thing rules. Great sound. Intuitive interface. Pros: - Great form factor: pocket and hand friendly - Decent amount of built-in storage, plus microSD slot - 120 volume levels (Android otherwise has only 15)! - Uses a USB-C port rather than a proprietary connector (as previous models did) - Runs Android, including Google Play Store. So: --You can add pretty much every streaming service! --You can use any of a multitude of great apps for playback of locally-stored music, including some which can play more audio formats than Sony's own app, and some which can output bit-perfect audio via the USB port (e.g., Neutron, USB Audio Player Pro). Neutral: sound quality. It seems fine but I honestly hear no obvious difference between this and my phone or my $150 DAP. I have nothing negative to say, I just don't hear anything to justify the ... Pros: - Great form factor: pocket and hand friendly - Decent amount of built-in storage, plus microSD slot - 120 volume levels (Android otherwise has only 15)! - Uses a USB-C port rather than a proprietary connector (as previous models did) - Runs Android, including Google Play Store. Challenging to get even 10 hours of use in Airplane Mode, and leaving WiFi on changes the battery life from "poor" to "utterly appalling." - Buttons are flush with device, nearly impossible to operate easily by feel. But: a cheap ~$12 plastic case will both protect the device and add nice big bumps over the buttons. Yay. - Tiny screen means that many apps that _technically_ work, are not fun or easy to use. - Some apps don't like this device. Can't use Plex because essential elements of the interface get cut off. -You cannot install or run the Roon client on this. Period. - Preloaded with bloatware you are unlikely to want on a DAP; not removable. - No biometric unlocking. It's an Android device linked to your Google account, so it needs to be secure--don't make me enter a code just to change my playlist! - USB port is awkwardly located on side of device; impractical to connect headphones via an in-line DAC, which you might want to do to get better digital to analog conversion. - Won't recognize microSD card unless formatted within the device. Cards that worked effortlessly in my other DAP (a Hidizs AP80) and in 2 Android phones would not be recognized by the Sony. - Can't load music except via cable connection. I tried ejecting the microSD card and inserting it into my Mac (works dandy with my other microSD cards as used in my other devices)--card was unreadable, and the effort to read it seems to have corrupted it, forcing me to reformat it. - Loading music via cable is so slow I just want to kill myself.

Best Dap I’ve used to date!
Sony is back. Yes, they have higher ended units. But this one has Android built in. Finally you can listen to Tidal, Qobuz and other services. Sound wise it’s fantastic. User interface is Android and simple to use. Unit is small fits in hand perfectly. Great price point for all you get. Go grab one Highly recommended. I’m going to see my Hiby R6 pro. It blows it away.
