    Very good value

    This is obviously just a stand alone fan unit, it is not an extractor, but it is very effective at keeping the flux smoke out of my face. The fan is quite sturdy and stable, easy to position and fairly quiet

    Does not extract

    Despite the noise, this unit will only remove soldering smoke and vapour that is produced less than 120mm from the front of the unit. For practical purposes, it is no use at all for removing fumes from hand soldering. It needs high flow volume at low velocity, but unfortunately has the opposite properties of high speed flow at very low volume. With the extractor 10 inches away from a hand soldering operation, the fumes still go straight into your face and nose, and are completely unaffected until the solderinbg iron is less than 5 or 6 inches from the extractor. As you move the iron toward the extractor you reach a position where suddenly the fumess stop rising vertically and are sucked horizontally into the extractor and that is at about 5 inches, It is of no practical use for stopping ...

    Very good easy to use extractor fan

    Bought this extract fumes generated while burning Pyrography pictures in wood. Fan ideal for this with carbon filter help remove the fumes.
