Most underrated camera ever made. Best bang for buck!
This camera is extremely powerful for it's class. As of the v2.0 firmware update, it can shoot 10bit 4:2:2 video. It shoots high dynamic range HLG video. It shoots OPEN GATE video at 18 megapixels (UHD is 8megapixels) without electronic stabilisation. Autofocus is not as bad as people say it is when you know how to use the focus modes properly and you set it to AF NEAR or AF FAR in the menu according to usage scenario. The micro four thirs lens mount system is the most practical. It keeps the cost and weight of lenses down. The camera and the MFT system just makes the best value for money camera in the history of digital cameras. I'm not kidding. I have been doing professional photography for 10 years before switching from Canon to LUMIX because of this camera. I just picked up my 2nd G9 body and I have an adaptor to use my canon lenses. I also have native Panasonic and Leica MFT lenses (7-14mm and 100-400 Leica). This camera is very sophisticated. There are plenty of features I haven't even used yet even though I have had my first one for 2 years. Take your time learning it, it's well worth the effort. There are plenty of online resources and an excellent book on it. But you don't have to be an expert in order to use it on fully automatic artifical intelligence mode. The image stabilisation is phenomenal. It has a floating sensor for in body image stabilisation AS WELL AS digital stabilisation (like phones use), AS WELL AS the ability to combine all this with lens stabilisation if the lens offers it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bargain professional camera at an enthusiast price.
I've had other MFT cameras from Olympus, and always believed that Olympus were the superior camera company for photography. I've changed my opinion. The G9 is about a third less cost in comparison to an equivalent Olympus body but it usually is far superior. The grip is nicely shaped, the on/of button surrounds the short bottom for really quick in hand shooting. The menu system is much more logical.
