This is even better that the Are You Being Served series & That was Hillarious! : )
I have really come to Love these characters over the years. I don't really agree with Homosexuality as a preferred Lifestyle, or even Morally. However I can't help but LOL at Mr. Humphries! I Love the way he gets along with the Farmers Daughter. He tries... Anyway, they are Great & this Follow-up Series Works Great for all Characters Included in the series, and makes letting them go on with their personal lives or on into Retirement, a bit easier for me. Grace Brothers Dept Store Staff moves to the Country
Although many reviews pan this series, I enjoyed it. The core cast from the British comedy series "Are You Being Served" now owns a manor house in the British countryside after Mr. Grace of Grace Brothers frittered away their retirement account on wine, women & his yacht before the store failed and Mr. Grace died. In order to provide income, they open a hotel and become the staff aided by a dirty old man who remembers snuggling with Mrs. Slocum during her war days as a land girl & his pretty daughter who is the cook and just happens to sleep in the manor. Problem is Mr. Humphreys has been assigned to her room and she just decides not to move lodging so into his bed she goes which startles and confuses Mr. Humphreys enormously. This series gives the former department ... Although many reviews pan this series, I enjoyed it. Entertaining sequel .. worth watching!
Good old fashioned British comedy! The characters have aged well. Though, the addition to the cast ... of the very loud farmer as the Manor's caretaker was a poor substitute for the original maintenance men of Grace Brothers. I could do without the farmer bellowing at the top his lungs .... more distraction than entertaining. (May have been the cause of the program being cancelled after only 2 seasons.) Regardless, a great entertainment purchase for anyone who enjoyed the original "Are You Being Served". Good old fashioned British comedy! The characters have aged well. Delightfully funny
I love English comedies, and this one is among the funniest. From the cranky store owner to the pompous floor manager to the older woman who wears over the top makeup... oh, I could go on and on! It's funny, retro, and well worth your while.
