Removed broken glow plug tip from head/ precombustion chamber without breakage
Was able to use the smallest tap to thread into part of the broken glow plug tip that was made of metal, and then use the threaded rod to pull the center part including the tip of the glow plug out of a holden rodeo head. This was a larger m12 thread plug, so used a socket over the hole as a base for the nut and threaded rod, this kit only supplies m8 and m10 sized guides. If you have a broken body of the glow plug that wont unscrew, you need a different tool. Had to be very careful of the tap as its long, and would bend/ twist as it was cutting the thread, be very gentle with the tap, use some oil or grease to help cut the threads, and remove often to clear the swarf so it wont bind up. The threaded rods were bent when placed in the plastic carry case at the factory, and are difficult to ... The threaded rods were bent when placed in the plastic carry case at the factory, and are difficult to straighten, I modified the carry case so they were easier to remove. Some of the guides had holes that were off center, and had to be either filed, or drilled to be correct, but then you loose the snug fit to center the drill/ tap. For what you pay, and if you are very gentle and patient with the small pieces, you should have success with most basic carbon stuck glow plug tips, use a solvent to help with the carbon buildup on the glow plug tip and let it soak before removal. I dont think it would remove tips that had burnt and swollen in the pre combustion chambers, but you dont know till you have tried.
