AKG701 HEADPHONES
Previous to this purchase I bought a pair of Green AKG Q701,s Quincy Jones and was extremely happy with them especially for On Air & Voice Over work, recently a pair of AKG701's in white came up at a good price so I bought those and are currently using them, in a nut shell comfortable, sound great slightly weighty but after awhile no problem. Not recommended for jogging lol

Great cans but don't beat the MA-900 for me.
These headphones are very comfortable, they're lightweight and have a light clamp force but a nice texture on the earpads which helps them stay on very well. Overall I thought they would be more 'open' but that it only because I have come from a pair of Sony MDR MA-900 which literally have a slit in the rear of the earcup and you can't really beat that level of openness. So how's the sound quality? It's not bad by any margin but it has a slightly veiled sound in comparison to the Sony's just mentioned. I do enjoy the colour of them though and they're good enough for me to use for my gaming setup. I run these through a Yamaha AG03 and there is plenty of volume! In short I can't really say these are better in any way than my favourite pair of cans, the aforementined Sony MA-900, except for ... Perfect for electric piano
Great headphones if you want a flat response. Very good for piano because it accurately captures the whole dynamic range. Depending on the piano, you may want something that bumps the bass a bit (or use eq), but the treble is lovely. The open back means you can hear everything happening around you as well. Works surprisingly well with devices such as phone or iPod considering the impedance. For the odd occasion a dedicated headphone amplifier is not needed, but of course suggested if you want the best sound. AKG K701s are among the best headphones in the market. Well designed finish, outstanding sound quality, and the reputation of the great AKG make these headphones popular for many years. Not too easy to drive, not too hard as well. Driven by a loptop is acceptable, even better than most of the smaller cans and earbuds. A well matched amp can produce power, sound stage, details, and emotion from them. A little unfriendly to the head, sometimes too tight for me to use for a long time. Really recommended below 500 dollars.AKG K701s are among the best headphones in the market.
