Well designed, albeit with outdated technology
For decades, Radio Shack's Micronta multimeters provided an affordable alternative to more expensive industrial meters and were well suited for the needs of household, serious hobbyist and some professional users. That so many of these meters are still perfectly functional 30, 40, or even 50 years later is a testament to their quality. The Micronta 22-205 is a well made meter that is likely between 40 and 50 years old. Mine works perfectly on all ranges except the highest resistance range (r x 100,000) because the 15-volt battery it requires is obsolete and no longer available. Fortunately, only that one resistance range is affected since the others operate off of a conventional C cell. Voltage and amperage ranges on any analog meter do not require a battery and thus are not affected. If ...
