Don't waste your money on this abomination
Toybiz definitely missed the mark on this one. Of course, it's not hard to understand why: this was literally the very first "Lara Croft" action figure released, and it betrays a rush-job to get it to the store shelves before someone else did. First of all, there's no denying it: it's definitely the ugliest Lara figure out there. The most obvious feature which grabs the eye is her huge, manly shoulders, the result of the ball-joints which join her arms to her body. The face is a comic-like caricature which resembles that of a blow-up sex doll rather than the sexy-cool Ms.Croft. Her distorted torso (did I mention THOSE SHOULDERS?!?) sits atop a pair of weirdly-posed legs, but again--no surprise when you realize that her lower body was "borrowed" from an other already-existing DC Comics ... Toybiz definitely missed the mark on this one. Of course, it's not hard to understand why: this was literally the very first "Lara Croft" action figure released, and it betrays a rush-job to get it to the store shelves before someone else did. First of all, there's no denying it: it's definitely the ugliest Lara figure out there. As a result, her stance is rather odd; it has been described with terms ranging from "bowlegged" to "has a full diaper". The figure is depicted with molded-on bandoliers across her famously-ample chest, but I can't recall ever seeing Lara outfitted with these accessories in any game. Toybiz got the colors right when depicting her shirt and trademark shorts, but the shorts themselves are HUGE--like as if she bought them second-hand from a previous owner who was three sizes larger than the petite raider. They're made of a cheap, weird vinyl material which will and does crack with age. But most glaring of all (did I mention those SHOULDERS?!) in the wardrobe deficiency are the massive, asymetric hip-holsters and the glaring lack of Lara's trademark dual pistols. Instead, we get a strange pairing of ONE pistol and a submachine gun/Uzi which, er, uhm...are supposed to fit into each appropriately-sized holster? Since when did Lara EVER holster a single Uzi?? No, no, no...Lara's trademark dual handguns are as distinctive as her pony tail and leg-bindings for the aforementioned holsters--which have always been standard handgun holsters. Incidentally, even the characteristic tie-downs for those are molded much too far down on the thigh and independent of the holsters themselves, as if Toybiz really didn't understand what those straps around Ms Croft's thighs were for in the first place. And the holsters are made of a faux-leather, which ride very high on the hips just because of the nature of the material. And they're HUGE. The accompanying toys-- a bat and a small demon--are rather useless as they are flying beasts and there is no diorama in which to pose them. The other included guns are rather interesting, but certainly do not justify the cost of this figure set. If you're really interested in getting a nice Lara Croft figure, bump up another $10-$15.00 or so and grab one of the later "Playmates" 6-inch figures. These were released with accompanying little diorama scenes taken directly from the game and range from around $25-$40, but the stand-alone figures themselves occasionally pop up on eBay without the background scenes and can be had sometimes for under $10. Usually these are missing an accessory or two (normally the guns have been lost) but all in all they are a MUCH more attractive rendering than this Toybiz turkey.

While not the greatest looking, a look back a tomb raider history
While it is not the greatet looking piece, it is a great look at Lara croft, and can be set to many points to articulation. It resembles her older character, not her newer one, so it is not as 'beautiful'. As games were more pixelated when the first Tomb Raider was released. Still, an excellent item in my opinion
