blocks much of the side light; I can see the viewfinder much better
the deeper eye cup blocks much of the side light; I can see the viewfinder much better. The semi-soft rubber doesn't hurt when brought close to the face and allows the eye lashes to stay away from the glass minimizing smearing. It does stick out a bit more obviously and putting in/out of a smaller camera bag makes it a bit more cumbersome

Hopeful to help with diopter issue
Great for the om-d em-1 mk ii. I find it hard to get the diopter to focus for my eye which is halfway between two "clicks" on the olympus (not a problem on my Sony. At least as this gives my more shade and sticks out further it gives me a like bit of focussing "chance" So here's hoping.
