The first series of this classic Sci fi series is well made and head and shoulders above anything made then or now
The wrong dvd was sent - have been trying to obtain a copy of the REMAKE, not the original series, but with no success.
I really enjoyed working my way through the 17 episodes of this series. I can remember watching some of these programs on the rare occasions they were transmitted on national television. I enjoyed them then and this DVD did not disappoint my expectations. It has to said that some of the plot lines do not stand up to close scrutiny but generally speaking they move along at a good pace and are well scripted. The opening titles and score are just as brilliant as I remembered. The episodes are not continuous but stand alone and some can be seen as morality tales exploring human nature as well as straight forward thrillers involving invaders from outer space. Key to this are some excellent guest appearances. Roy Thinnes is just about perfect in the central role of David Vincent. He brings the right amount of physicality (He can handle himself in a fist fight as well as use a gun) and is also capable of showing sensitivity and compassion to those poor unfortunates who become ensnared in the nightmare world of The Invaders. One can also feel his sense of angst when up against unbelievers. For viewers who enjoy thoughtful science fiction I can thoroughly recommend this DVD.Read full review
