Product Information

The NOCTILUX-M is the only f/1 lens for 35-mm photography manufactured in series by Leica. Because of this extraordinary optical performance it is eminently suited not only for photography at twilight, but also for night photography without flash - the light of a single candle is already sufficient. It produces outstanding contrast rendition, so that barely noticeable color differences are faithfully separated and the finest structures of the subject are resolved accurately, even under extremely unfavorable light conditions. The optical computation of this super-fast lens approaches the limits of what is physically possible. The NOCTILUX-M gives LEICA-M photography capabilities that are beyond the reach of other outfits.

    Leica lens luxury and a must for lovely low light photography.

    Great lens to have for a Leica M camera addict. It's performance in low light is incredible. Focusing is difficult and maybe just a tad off for the M8 or M9. The price is outrageous, even for my 30 year old version I just received. But the newer Noctilux versions are even more outrageous. If you like to shoot at night or indoors, its great. For outdoors, works also. The bokeh is extremely nice.

    After Repair, Great Lens

    I had to put a considerable amount of money into getting this lens adjusted. First it was front focusing, then back focusing. DAG camera repair got it working great, but it did not arrive in great condition.
