Good history of corvette book,not C8 corvette details.
This is basically a history and political history of the GM Corvette and the people who worked there. There is no in depth details of the engineering,materials,corrosion resistance, steering,rear-end,or frame of the actual 2020 C8 Corvette. No real information on trim levels, or differences in drive-ability from the choice of Z51 or standard mode or magnetic ride or performance exhaust or tires or gauges or comfort. There are no detail photos of the frame except 1 front end shot. Most pictures are of early mock-ups or dream sketches.If you want real information on the C8 this is not the book for you.This is basically a history and political history of the GM Corvette and the people who worked there. Wonderfully written and beautifully done book is here with a look at the Mid-Engine Concepts which merit a book of their own, the Holden UTE development car aka Blackjack and you have the whole story of the Beautiful C8 CORVETTE, The Convertible and coupe are looked at, wonderfully illustrated behind the scenes pictures. And Never before seen GM Images, Including The connection with Chevy Powered Chaparral Cars of Jim Hall in the 60s, It Mentions the Chaparral 2F ran Le Mans 67' but Neglects the Fact The Chevrolet Powered Chaparral 2D WON OUTRIGHT the 1966 Nürburgring 1000Km with Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier at the wheel I have a Victory Poster of it. I fret though at the variations Mentioned in the book,I hope The GS and z06 and ZR1 return and Maybe a Zora but hoping Barras and Co. do not ... There is also a limited editon version of 2000 copies available done by Crain/Crain's Communications from GmCompanyStore and two other merchants and printed in the USA but it is the same book red hardcover minus a dustjacket and no index No ISBN, only says GM inside and not numbered either,I have both because I Love Corvette.The Motorbooks is one is neater cause of the dustjacket.A must own/must read for Corvette owners and Corvette Lovers and those who are interested in this Amazing Groundbreaking Car. Here's hoping for A C8R book and hopefully a blu-ray on this story that needs to be told. If you're into Vehicle development, design or engineering or Just a Corvette-Crazy like me you need to get yourself a copy of this book.
