So far, i've owned two of these for about a month. They replace my aging Nuvi 255W and 265W. For the first several days, it was absolutely perfect. Maps are correct, etc, then one morning the one i use in my truck directed me on some dirt roads, etc, even though dirt roads were on it's "Avoid: list. Next, it directed me to go several miles east to then go west, and added about 25 miles to a 32 mile trip. Then it directed me to go several miles south to ultimately go north. I did a total reset, which requires you to back up your info first, because it erases all your saved favorites. Since then it has returned to operating like it did when i first got it. I love the large display. I like the way it splits the screen to show the correct road to take when necessary. Although the operation is somewhat different than my other Nuvi's, its close enough that you can easily add destinations, perform searches, etc. The cost of this unit is not a whole lot more than the updates for my Nuvi 265, which i could never get to download. I'm hoping the route issue was just a small hiccup, because I really like this GPS and look forward to using it for a long time. Had it not been for that hiccup, I'd easily rate it a 5.Read full review

This is a good unit once the address is locked in but that is the problem When you go to enter an address it first asks you for a street number. Then it asks you for a street. Then instead of asking you for a city next (and then a state) it starts searching for a number and street in the 5 state region you are in and it takes FOREVER for it to do that (about 30 seconds). Then, when it can't find what you're looking for, it FINALLY will ask you for a city and when you enter the city it will give you all of the states that have a city with that name. Then, you will have to start all over and enter the street number and street name again. It's a real pain ITA. Whoever programmed this unit must not be from the USA !

THIS IS A FANTASTIC GPS: 1) This unit is a lot better than any smart phone GPS. 2) It' simple to use. 3) Volume can be changed, and is quite loud for slightly hearing impaired people. 4) Screen brightness is adjustable and quite bright, even in sunlight. 5) You can set it to avoid turnpikes (toll roads). 6) Accepts a micro SD card to expand it's memory. 7) FREE Lifetime maps updates that are extremely important. It even redirects you when roads are temporarily closed, due to construction. 8) It has a number of categories to select from: shopping, grocery stores, fast food, restaurant's, gas stations, road side rests, hotels/motes, and more. Sometimes some of these places are out of business but this GPS still directs me there, this is not Garmin's fault. 9) There have only been a few times I typed a desired location, and Garmin could not locate the destination. Upon further research I discovered, in most cases: it was due to wrong information I was inputting. 10) It will display the mileage distance to your destination, along with the arrival time. 11) It displays the speed limit, of the road you are traveling on. Plus, it warns you when you are nearing a school zone. 12) You have a number of languages to select from. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT!Read full review

while this nuvi is a used, older model, it suited my purposes as a backup GPS for some of my vehicles. it has a decent display except in the brightest sunlight. it has not failed and is stil in use. i would definitely bought another used one like this again when needed...

Good, but not as good as the 55nuvi I had before. It has too many features to deal with and there was no manual book. I have to wait until I get back home to my computer to solve an issue.
