  • Absolutely amazing content, volume and variety

This game is absolutely awesome in that there seems to be so much more content than any other computer game I've ever seen, and it is free roaming, you can do the main mission, or just do your own thing. The leveling up of your character is paralleled by that of the enemies, so it helps you keep leveling up. You can choose whatever game style you like, good ol' swords, etc., or majic, and their are several categories of that to choose from, or use them all. The only real downside for most is that it is so addictive! Once you start playing, you don't want to stop. There are probably at least two to three hundred hours worth of stuff if you did every little thing. If you've got the time, it's great, but if not, you are losing sleep for work or school, and not spending much time with anyone ...

  • Good product, great help to maintain the atmosphere of dungeon exploring.

I bought the strategy guide to oblivion mainly due to repetitive stops while exploring caves and ruins. Ever had a moment where you know there's more to the structure but you simply cant access it? whether it be for a quest or a key somewhere or simply a lever, this guide goes into detail on what areas are for and how to get across them safely. One of the things I liked about this guide is just the shear amount of information you're provided. Everything. Even detailed walk-throughs of the DLC areas. However one of its major flaws and drawbacks was its design, simply not user friendly, it wasn't quick and easy to find the information you want, you'd have to scour through pages and pages of text to realize that area is simply inaccessible until point X during quest Y. very frustrating. The ...

  • something is missing.....

....Like a review of items, weapons and armor. Or maybe that is in there, but its hidden inside the walk-throughs. I, however, really dont like looking at the walk-throughs and maps. I purchased this book expecting a hint or two on character creation (which is definatly has) and so I could have a list of quest items and what they do. I feel disappointed that this book really didnt deliver that. However, if all you want is an easy guide to quest maps and such, this will work for you. I will also point out that the book seems like it was written first for Oblivion and they just tacked the expansions on in the back. Not a bad thing, but seems a little off if you are trying to do multiple quests at once. expect to flip through the book alot.

  • Don't leave home without it

I don't have a lot of time to play video games and I get frustrated easily when forced to replay the same section of a game over and over again so I NEED the help that the strategy guide offers. I'm also not very good at video games so the hints, game tips, maps and quest walk throughs are invaluable. I'm so glad I was able to find a copy of Oblivion's guide because I was getting tired of getting killed by vampires and other nasties spilling out of the Oblivion Gates. Now, I at least have a fighting chance.
