If you really like these red controllers and have needed to replace them lately, you may have discovered like I did that it's increasingly difficult to find original Sony brand red controllers. Good news, this isn't a bait and switch like some others, and I only marked it a 4 instead of 5 stars because I expected a used controller, though this is more of a refurbished (or so I assume, it has a very small, innocuous piece of black tape that seems to indicate to me that it had be opened up and fixed, but the tape is removable, doesn't detract from the controller even if you keep it on, and works very, very well). It arrived even before the expected date, came very clean, looks almost brand new, and I bought it at a very reasonable price. Should I want another one, I would definitely buy again.Read full review

I ordered a red controller and got blue. I wasn’t too concerned. Overall the controller looks very similar to the one that came with my PS3. The detail is pretty surprising. The color is slightly more matte and there is no metallic look to it when compared to my original controller. My main complaints are that it doesn’t stay on and doesn’t function like an original PS3 controller. It works for the most part but shuts off after a couple min. The most noticeable is the delay in action, mostly on the R joystick. It was a major handicap in shooter games. Even when using Netflix it didn’t seem to work correctly. I would not recommend this controller. In the photos the original controller is on the left and in the front.

Even though I bought a used one, there is not a scratch on it. It looks brand new. The only problem I have had is that the left joystick will sometimes malfunction in heavy usage situations. I have bought several controllers and after let-down after let-down, decided that I will only buy official Sony from now on.

I've owned over a dozen Sony controllers, I know what they should look like. The word Sony is cheap paint and the word is placed lower than it should be. The sticker on the back has several air bubbles under it. The controller will stop working randomly during gameplay, even though the light is still on. I have to plug it in to the PS3 to get in to start working again. There's also one very important part missing. The Sixaxis motion is missing. There's a few parts in Killzone 2 where you have to hold a button and turn the controller to turn off something. Well I held down the button, turned the controller and nothing happened in the game. All this leads me to believe it's not a genuine Sony product.

I don't know if this is a fake controller or just the cheapest Sony made ones but it's not as good as I was hoping for. The right dpad is unresponsive on average taps requiring more pressure than needed on every other controller I've used, the analog stick has almost no travel with pushing upward, the shape buttons are raised higher. I needed just a functional controller to finish a game on PS3 and my other option for a controller is fubar. It'll get you through most games but there does seem to be some added lag so FPS players or sports games might be an issue. For the price this is what I expected though. Don't expect a perfect controller without some issues.

Excellent Playstation 3 Sixaxis Controller with Rumble feature. It is a great controller with a lovely bright red color plastic instead of the usual black. Terrific for anyone who loves the color red and video games. It also makes the controller easier to find if it falls under a table or chair.

Even though the description says SONY, it is NOT SONY quality. Plastic is a weak blue color, not the transparent cobalt Sony uses and the controls/buttons are very "tight" slowing you down. Not good for precise game play. It is not a bad deal for the price. Controls may break in over time and ease up but they Make it difficult to play out of the box. Its o.k for a backup, but if you are even a moderate gamer, your going to notice how much more difficult it is to play with this.

This thing probably works just fine on a PS3 but I bought it to use with my laptop for RPG games. This thing took me hours to finally get working. After 3 or 4 applications I finally got it to work unreliably. Not to mention that the other one I bought doesn't work at all on my computer.

The springs in the toggles are too strong. There is also too much free space in the toggle before anything happens and when it does ,it is too much. I play mostly racing car games, this controller is almost impossible to use.

I ordered a replacement controller because I have worn out my other two, however this controller 'freezes up' at random moments even though it is brand new. All of a sudden none of the buttons will work, your character is 'frozen'
