I LOVE this book! It has a wealth of information so vast that it's hard to describe. Like the cover says, it tells how to make over 200 stitches, with words, symbols, and great photographs, and if you don't know how to use symbols, it teaches that, too. A beginner can start with this book and learn how to choose yarn and hooks, how to hold the hook, and how to make the most basic stitches, and move on to the fantastic array of stitch patterns. And experienced crocheters will find an abundance of stitches as well. Each chapter has a number of stitches in a different category, such as spike stitches, clusters, puffs, and bobbles, relief stitches, and includes Tunisian and broomstick lace, weaving stitches, adding beads to crochet, and a number of motifs and squares. This is a book I will always want at hand.Read full review
This book has a nice easy to use format. It has a spiral binding so you can lay it flat while crocheting. Each crochet stitch has a color photo and a diagram too. The photos seem to have a sheen (possibly from the yarn used?) that does make some of the more intricate stitches difficult to see fine detail. I could only find one post stitch and one cable stitch but all in all this book was well worth purchasing. Its very comprehensive and gives alot of instructions at the beginning on different techniques. I know its one that I will refer to often.
Great book. Good pictures and instructions.

This book os so very informative. It has lots of detailed pictures depicting the varioui crochet stitches.Explanations of the working of the stitches is most helpful. This book is bound beautifully and it appears that it will last a long time.My girlfriend or "partner in crime" showed me her book and I fell in love with it.I am so glad I was able to bid on it on eBay.I spend hours looking at all the pictures. Eventually I will create a one-of-a-kind afghan using some of the many stitches outlined in The Crochet Stitch Bible.
