As a possible response to the many Links golf fans who felt the need for an ultimate challenge on which to try out their cyber-golfing skills, Access' release of Devil's Island should scratch the itch for some time to come. This fantasy course takes target golfing to new heights and challenges even the most expert Links players to a round of nearly impossible difficulty -- in benign conditions! Add the features of breezy or windy conditions, hard or soft greens, and the challenge increases accordingly.<br><br>The course length tops out at close to 7,800 yards and par is only 71. Each hole is named and is appropriately labeled in conjunction with the difficult conditions. The fact that this is Devil's Island is never far from the golfer's mind as he or she negotiates the deviously and devilishly designed holes. The fantasy setting is clearly established as the designers point to the heart of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle as the locale for the course.<br><br>Links Fantasy Course: Devil's Island is usable by owners of Links, Links 386 Pro, Links 386 CD and Microsoft Golf versions 1 and 2. Players with Links LS 99 can also convert the course for use with that product but will need the CD in order to do so.
