As advertised. Packaged well and mailed promptly. The USPS delivery took 2 weeks. Not this seller’s fault. This package went on quite a tour of the US! Great prompt communication by the seller. Thanks. Would buy from again.

    2001

This movie came out in the '60s but fits right into our 2020s. It predicts what could go wrong with an all-intelligent computer which could decide and physically control events. Something to think about own AI experiments. Although we are informed that AI would 'never' be allowed independent action, this is just a next step in its development. Car companies are putting out autonomous 'self-driving' vehicles-----this is just the first step. Even if the viewer considers all this is just bullbleep, the CGI and animation of space gadgets is stunning; more 'realistic' and probable than Star Wars's.

  • Top critical review

I've seen the movie many times. The movie is good. The disc was only faur.

The disc is scratched. It plays pretty well if I'm willing to put up with the occasional stutter. It's only gonna be watched a few times in the next 20 years. It isn't worth sending it back.

  • 2001 review

DVD in great shape. I saw this show about 50 years ago on my HS prom night. Amazing how the writer and producer could see the future, similar to our present day with AI thrown in.

  • No Better Movie...

2001: A Space Odyssey, by Stanley Kubrick, is by far one of the best and most influential films ever made. The film was a wonder for it's time (1968) and still is today. The movie is a great watch for any movie enthusiast or analyst. The techniques and technology used by Stanley Kubrick are one of a kind and are often stolen by other directors and used in modern day film. This movie has evolutionary and religious themes hidden within its frames. Without a doubt, this is the best movie of all time, one that can be easily watched time after time and you can still pick out new things and learn more about it. This is a must watch film, I promise you won't regret watching it. :-)

  • See it several times; once is not enough.

The film broke a new ground, I know. But it is philosophical as well as scientific. When one's curiosity jumps away from the earth, what does he do? These and more questions are bubbling up throughout the film. Enhanced by the music by Strauss, the film begins with the discovery of weapons and discrimination among the apes. The film ends, or takes us back from space to the earth, from the adult man to a new-born baby. The film is also a fable.
