    Dull

    I found this to be on the dull side. The amusing parts are few and far between. There are some. Just not enough. I understand this to be Rob Riener's first foray into full length feature film directing. If so, I'm surprised he made any more films. I suppose it has some value as having a "cult" following. I read where someone is thinking of making a sequel. It wouldn't have to go very far to be better.

    An American Classic...

    This movie is equal parts comedy and all-together-too-real documentary for anyone who has ever played in a band. The humor is subtle, dry, and laugh-out-loud funny all at once. This film set the standard for all the mockumentaries to come and it is still the best of the lot.

    This is Spinal Tap!

    Classic mockumentary, rock stars, spandex, drugs, cucumber in the pants, series of drummers from deaths, crazy girlfriend breaking up the band, mismanagement by the tour manager, record company censoring the band's ideas. Killer songs, and guitars. Can wtch it over and over, memorable quotable lines, gets funnier every time I see it, hence buying the Special Edition DVD.
