    Pricey but necessary

    Blue Air purifiers are the best purifiers on the market. I've had two of the 500 series for over ten years and I reduce the speeds during the day but run them full speed at night. Unless we have a power failure, they stay on 24/7. They also double as white noise which helps with sleeping. They aren't loud, just mostly soothing. My only con about this system is the price of the filters, around $80 a set of three. Instructions suggest changing them every 3-6 months but that's too often(and too costly) in my opinion. I'm not recommending anyone else do this, but I've found that by taking them out and vacuuming the inside of each filter to remove visible particles (animal hair, dust, etc.) extends the life of the filters and I sometimes go longer than a year between replacements.     Good value & quality

    We use this filter set to maintain a clean room within my house. During wildfire season, this filter set in a BlueAir 600 - oversized for the 10x10 room - keeps the particle count for >0.5 micron smoke to high single digits per cubic foot, while outdoors is 15,000-40,000; and keeps the EPA-standard 2.5 micron particles to 0-3, while outdoors is in the "unhealthy for all persons" range.

    You really need the OEM version of these filters

    I bought a used machine and when I switched out the filters, noticed right away that the OEM version allows a lot more air flow. The previous owner used a 3rd party set of filters that restricted much of the air flow.

    Really works

    Our community suffered greatly from the Camp Fire disaster! After the evacuation, we returned to our still-standing home. Heavy smoke permeated the house. We turned on our BlueAir SmokeStop filters. Within 2 days most if not all of the smell of smoke was gone!
