Synopsis
With all war there is collateral damage. This is no more evident than during the Indian wars in Colorado. Mo-Chi, Twenty-Three Years Young, carefully walked among the dead bodies of her tribe, shaking with fear and horror. She found the body of her husband, Standing Bull, and pressed on through tears of grief. Finally, she found the body of her father. Her grief turned to anger. Mo-chi would become the first female Cheyenne warrior. Cheyenne oral history records Mo-chi's declaration for war: "This day, I vow revenge for the murder of my family and my people. This day, I declare war on veho - white man. This day I become a warrior and a warrior I will be forever." When an Indian grabbed Isabelle by the hair and drew out his knife, Laura Roper said she grabbed the knife and that the other Indians laughed. From then on she was called "brave squaw." Book jacket., The Colorado Indian wars were indeed tragic. No more so than for the women. Their stories are frightening, tragic, heroic and courageous. From the ashes of the Sand Creek camp site, Mo-chi raises her father's Hawkin rifle and declares, "Today I will become a Cheyenne warrior." Susanna Alderdice is tragically killed at the Battle of Summit Springs. Victims of "collateral damage," the four German sisters struggle to survive their captivity. After being taken hostage, Josephine Meeker advocates for the Ute Indians until her dying day. These are the stories of the women of the Indian wars.

This package of books came quickly and was packed well enough to prevent all but the worst handling conditions. The books themselves were in nearly perfect condition and the box/sleeve was only slightly worn -- just as described in the listing. Was really happy with this order and the price was fantastic for such a great starter set of Hardy Boys. Awesome!

I buy used blu ray movies almost exclusively. When a great title comes to me, at a great price, responsibly shipped in bubblewrap, I know the seller's smart, and responsible, and their efforts are worthy of our business. A++, all around..! Thanks, Goodwill of Northwest North Carolina..! Let's do this again..! 👋😁👌

from reading his feedback, i see this seller always UNDER-rates the condition of his books. they are usually in BETTER condition than listed. he also ships fast. so one can be confident that the condition of a book from this seller will be AT LEAST as good as described, usually BETTER, and shipped promptly. the book i just received is in EXCELLENT condition, but was only listed as "acceptable". wish all book sellers were as honest as this one. won't hesitate to buy from him again!
