    COMPRESSER COMPRESSION

I HAVEN'T OWNED IT VERY LONG & CANNOT GIVE A COMPLETELY HONEST ASSESMENT OF THE PEDAL ,JUST BASED ON MY FEW MONTHS OF USE ID COMMENT HIGHLY ON ITS LOOKS & ITS METAL HOUSING ARE OF GOO QUALITY. THE PLASTIC K OBS I BELIEVE COULD HAVE & SHOULD HAVE BEEN METAL AS WELL & IF IM NOT MISTAKEN THE ORIGINAL 4 KNOB MODEL WAS ASSEMBLE WITH METAL KNOBS. GIVING IT MORE STRENGTH . BEING A PEDAL THE YOU STOMP ON AL PARTS IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE CONSTUCTED WITH MATERIALS THAT WILL HANDLE MEN OF : FOR INSTANCE 300lbs. I'm 6' & at 235 but when Im practicing at my studio I have my pedals on my piano & push then on by hand it saves their lifespan. I do own other pedals & for under $ 30. 00 it does exactly the same thing. However Behringers model is plastic housing will do the job but may not last in a long term investment. Sincerely Timothy Linneman

  • Top critical review

    un-needed extras and overpriced

When it sounds good it hisses. The single coil/humbucker switch doesn't seem to do anything if anything. The white knob blend can let you play over the top but sacrifices any good sound. So if you bother me for a review in order to get attention then I will give you the wrong time of day. Yes the compressor works as a compressor but in my opinion it has extra stuff you don't need making it overpriced. I'll keep it in case someone wants it.

  • Excellent.

It's the best compression pedal I've used so far. I picked this one because it had killer reviews and met my expectations. It's easy to use and compact. The range and dynamics and modulation is great. Its attack setting is based on the center humbucker/single coil switch which is kinda weird, I'm just used to have a knob for that. But it blends smartly between dry signal and compression. Also has option to boost signal. Love it.

  • Just as a carpenter needs a good hammer - a bass player needs a good compression pedal. This is it.

Best compression pedal on the market. Extra bonus - sturdy box and easy to follow instruction manual. Compression pedals - this one included - have a lot of subtle adjustments that can make a difference. Having a manual that clearly points them out is important.

  • Finally, a compressor that works well and beats the Boss models.

This Keeley Compressor Plus is a long awaited unit. I own nearly every compressor ever made. I've stuck with the Boss ones because they were they only ones with enough squash for my country, chicken pickin' needs. The Boss pedals have to be "Played" properly....with a volume pedal in order to shut down the MASSIVE noise between phrases due to the 'sustain' knob being wide ope and that I NEVER shut off my compressors. The KEELEY is the first compressor from Keeley that I was willing to try. The 2 knob version didn't have the controls needed to get the job done any better than my others to get one. The next 4 knob didn't have the right controls either. THIS ONE IS GOLD. They FINALLY put a tone knob on there. The other versions were too dark and you had to crank up the high end on your amp, which is not a good thing for most folks. The tone control on the PLUS pedal has to be turned up to about 9 in order to get your compression tone to be the same as your uncompressed tone, but at least it gets there. This version also has a great dry/compressed blend control to allow for controlled natural and compressed sounds to happen at the same time. You actually get the killer squash and the dynamics of an uncompressed guitar going on and it sounds awesome. The price point is amazingly great. No need for me to try another compressor during my lifetime. This one FINALLY does it all.

  • The Best I Have Found

I play Telecaster in a Country/Rock bar band. I've owned and used MXR, BBE, Digitech, Barbour, Biyang, Diamond and previous Keeley compressors. This one kicked a Diamond off my board. I use compression as an always on fatten and sweeten the tone, level out the unwanted dynamics, lightly applied effect. Almost more of a buffer than a compressor. I find there is always a little trade off between compression and a non-compressed signal, but not with this compressor. I have enjoyed every compressor I have used. None of these are bad at all. I would gig with any of them. The Diamond is exceptional. But for my use, the new Keeley Compressor Plus does the best job of enhancing without robbing the tone. It has a great "feel" to it. Very versatile, though I just use it on one setting. In band and gig situations, this one is my favorite. And it is bout 30% less expensive than my second favorite, which I liked well enough to buy two. Better than it's predecessors and and considerably less expensive. If you use compression like I do, you may really love this one.

  • Compressor plus, equals tonal happiness.

Such an easy to dial in Compressor, super versatile and the blend control allows you to mix it almost transparently, can also do the country quack thing too if that's your jam. I set mine for a subtle limiting effect with almost endless sustain on tap. The Single coil/Humbucker switch is really a game changer. makes setting changes minimal when using different types of guitars. I would highly recommend this pedal, and Sweetwater are a great company to deal with.

  • "IN YOUR FACE" with natural Presence and brilliance! Keeley Compressor Plus Guitar Effects Pedal +

I purchased a Used Keeley Compressor Plus Guitar Effects Pedal +, “Mint, with all original packaging!” It took me a little while to dial this compressor in. I have tried other compressors that did Not satisfy by taste. The other pedals always over processed/compressed guitars signal thus creating an un-natural over-squeezed tone. Plus, they made my other pedals (boast, over-drive and distortion) sound bad. ***To my delight the Keeley Compressor Plus Guitar Effects Pedal + sounds more natural to my ears. Even when I have the pedal set to a bit more compression the sound is still quite natural and pleasing to my ears. Plus, when I use the Keeley compressor in conjunction with my other pedals (boast, over-drive and distortion) the sound is Amazing! My '66 and "73 Stratocasters sound "IN YOUR FACE" with Presence and brilliance! NOTE: The compressor can be a little noisy at times...but when I'm performing in my 8-piece band a little noise does not stop the show or matter to me! The quite pedals did not give me the results or sound I desired!!

  • Keeley Compressor Plus

This is by far the best compressor ever built! Mine never turns off on my pedalboard. I set all the controls at noon, the humbucker- single switch down and lets rock! This is my second one for a second pedal board I built! Very transparent and hats off to Robert Keeley for such a great pedal!

  • 9v battery power quit working almost immediately

The Keely compressor really balances my fat strat regardless of my guitar and amp settings.....well worth the investment. Down-side, the 9v battery alternative power quit working after 1 week, must use a 110v power that does NOT come with the pedal. They need to wire the 9v battery terminal better imo.
