I am great shooter....No it's the Sled...money spent WELL!
Because this guy locks your rifle in place, setting up my scope on the AR is real easy. I am not as good of a shoot as others on the range but this gets my groups as good as some of my friends. Also as a reloader I can dial my loads much easier because play is out of the mix. Now for me I use 10 round magazines so I didn't have to worry about enough room to loading them. With the benches at the range I go to 20 and 30 round clips would be a problem. My point is when I take my AR to this range it is for long distances 100 yard and higher. I got a great deal on this Sled an the prices are still getting lower.....Alpha2Omega treated me well and it arrived with no problems so thks A2O for the shipment. Lastly I picked up "Reclaimed Lead Shot - (2-25) Bags 50 Pounds installed in the caldwell weight bags so It ain't moving. Great product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Caldwell DFT2 Lead Sled
THE GOOD: Well made and built like a rock. Instructions for assembly are easy to follow. Elevation and windage adjustments are simple and adequate. THE BAD: Very large and heavy, so hauling it to/from your car or truck takes both hands. You'll need a large surface to set it on. The sled is tall so you need to consider the height of your shooting bench and seat. The bench and chair at my shooting club weren't compatible with the height of the sled and I had difficulty getting a steady sight picture so my results were poor. I had to use a Harris bipod instead of the sled to get reasonable results. The new sled will probably be an addition to my attic until I come up with a better setup solution. Required equipment for sighting a tack driver!
I have tried many gun rests. Bags, plastic rests and even a basic lead sled. The Caldwell DFT2 is by far the most superior rest I've come across. I re-sighted in my Browning A-bolt gold medallion. Lead Sled DFT
Was always hesitant about getting one of these. But I’m glad that I did! SOLID product! I’ve had several strokes, and recoil was an issue for me from a few of my magnum rifles afterwards. This has solved that! I can now pull the trigger on this rifles again without severe nerve pain shooting down my right arm. This thing absorbs the recoil and remains on the target for the next shot.
