EA Sports, the company behind PGA Tour Golf, presents three tournament style courses in one collection for fans of their golf simulation. PGA Tour Golf: The Tournament Courses includes Colonial Country Club, Cog Hill (Dubsdread Course) and the Bay Hill Club. <br><br>Although one of the shortest courses used on the PGA Tour, the fourth course at Cog Hill's golfing complex maintains its reputation of toughness in despite a USGA rating of 68.7 (c.1993). Dubsdread, as it's called, plays to par 71 and runs just over 6,200 yards in length. Known more for the requirement of course management skills rather than blistering power, Dubsdread demands accuracy with long iron shots and steady-handed putting on its rolling greens.<br><br>Next up is the course that is home to famous Hogan's Alley. The course, like most professional-quality venues, requires precision shot making to negotiate the narrow fairways and bunkered greens. Colonial Country Club is known for its tough, narrow fairways and plays just over 7,000 yards from the tournament tees, at a rating of 73.7. Additionally, par is only 70, although players can make it a bit easier by using pro tees that are about 400 yards less distance. <br><br>The third course included in this collection is an Arnold Palmer design riddled with water and sand. More than 100 traps await errant shots on this 7,100-plus yard Florida layout. Another regular stop on the PGA Tour, Bay Hill Club offers year round golfing in a pleasant climate at this 27-hole facility. The course has gained a reputation as a tough venue with its USGA rating nearly equaling its par 72 total.<br><br>This add-on CD can be used with the Tiger Woods 99 PGA Tour Golf simulation as well as some earlier versions. All three courses are optimized for use with 3Dfx acceleration. Also included is a program update for PGA Tour Golf.
