Exceptionally creative words and illustrations that is executed with skill and imagination. A fantastic gift for anyone, especially children. A society of creatures (dinosaurs) and humans that captured ideas on building a society and again, the story is full of exceptional illustrations translating the words into the visuals. James Gurney created a new land, complete in every way, and beautifully rendered.
Over the decades I have bought about 10 of these books. I want every child I know to have a copy. This book is a perfect gift. The story is great, the characters wonderful, and the artwork is the best. The pure imagination and time to create and fill out this "world" is beyond my reckoning. I am so grateful that the artist carried it out. He even created a Dinotopian alphabet and carried it out on the signage and on the monuments. Incredible!
