    Replacing older model same company

    Maps were 41 months old, but updated without issue. Have used product on trips to TX and ME from FL successfully for the most part. It did put one destination location on the wrong side of street so left/right not always 100%. Unit does place more importance in directional distance and placing destination on the right than net shortest distance applied to exits off major highways. I liked the 6" screen size as more helpful than my older Tomtom it replaces and the automatic screen rotation is nice feature.

    Worthless and useless

    Since there is no support anymore this is a terrible choice and a waste of money. The unit will only stay on for two minutes before it goes back into its advertising mode and you must touch the screen to bring it back on for another two minutes. This is the second Tom Tom that I have bought that does this. Totally worthless and completely useless!

    Reliable

    I have two of these units with Lifetime maps. I have used them in Canada and the USA and used one of them on a one month holiday in Europe when I had maps installed covering that geographic area. It was amazing to have those maps to use and the unit performed well. The time it takes to link to a satellite is sometimes long and I can't blame the unit as it may just be my location at the time. Other than that they are AAA-1 units and well worth the investment.

    Good old unit

    This is my second 1605M unit I wore the other one out in 7yrs, it's discontinued and I was glad to find another unopened nos unit to wear out for another 7yrs . TomTom has been the best navigation tool I've ever used and maps are Free for life .

    Owned same model previously, Very easy to navigate, but, only drawback was my previous unit broke after 3 years useage - thought it should of lasted much, much longer.
