    What a neat and heart warming movie

    Very cool story set in England back in the 1920’s-30’s I’ll guess. Amazing what a person can accomplish with positive attitude, mannerism, and persuasion. The movie shows how a gem is hiding in most everyone, and it only takes a keen eye and strong will to bring it to a shine. “One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure,” so to speak. Classic movie in my eyes.

    This Movie Should Have Won Multiple Oscars!

    Cold Comfort Farm is one of our all-time favorite movies. My former Shakespeare professor reported (long ago) that when he viewed it in the theatre, the entire row of seats were physically shaking from the laughter of the occupants. Most of the actors went on to big careers, and they are all 'characters' in this movie. The film is hilariously deadpan, ultimately upbeat, clever, strange and delightful. The movie is not available on Netflix or amazon, so we decided we better buy a DVD while we still could.

    Sharp, witty commentary on English class distinctions and how to overcome them. Very entertaining for any Anglophile.

    Cute movie with Kate Beckinsale in her first starring role that introduced her to the entertainment world. And for Ab Fab fans, there is Joanna Lumley. Plus Ian McKellen, Eileen Atkins, a young and very virile Rufus Sewell. What more could any Brit-lover want?

    Funny mostly unknown gem.

    Introducing Kate Beckinsale. That should be enough, but Ian McClellan Rufus Sewell, Joanna Lumley, Ivan Kaye, Stephen Fry, and Miriam Margolyes’ contributions to the ensemble really make this one of a few films from 1995 that I really enjoy every time I am able to see it.
