    It will scan.

    When these first came out I used one at work. They are old technology and are somewhat slow. Software doesn't have controls for different film types. I am lucky to have a version of Photoshop.

    Stopped working after completing one test scan

    The device enabled me to scan one paper document using Windows 7 and abruptly stopped working. No amount of troubleshooting such as reinstalling software, trying another USB cable, or ordering a new AC adapter helped to revitalize the unit. I ended up donating the scanner to a computer recycling center.

    Last of an excellent product from Canon

    There are certain idiosyncrasies, such as fitting the negs in the holder, that you have to get used to, but it is an excellent product. A shame that Canon appears to have discontinued this model. This one came with the MCD 2.1 updated driver which I think makes it one of the last ones made. It was complete and does work like new. (I had one previously so I knew what to expect.)
