This was a great deal, it was posted as a saw that would fire up with a bit of fuel added into the carb throat but would not stay running. After switching the carb for as known good running carb on one of my parts saws the saw did the same thing, would not stay running so I removed the fuel filter from the fuel tank and put a new one on and SHAZAM! she fired up on her own ran like a bat out of hell and with a bit of tinkering with the carb mixture adjustment I got her to run perfect, idles good, nice throttle response and winds up to high rpms without over revving or being to lean. I recommend these saws for anyone wanting the power of 42cc's in a nice compact fairly lightweight saw. Marti

The Stihl 009L is a great little chainsaw. Plenty of power for its size. Mine is very well balanced with a 14" bar. Light enough to use all day, yet powerful enough to easily cut logs with diameters at the full bar lentgh. Excellent limbing saw. Can be operated with one hand when necesary. Has enough power to pull a 16" chain, but would affect the balance. No primer bulb, so takes a few pulls to cold start after being stored with an empty fuel tank.
Unit needed carb rebuilt and some hoses replaced which cost almost nothing. Now it is a good small chain saw and I love it for cutting small stuff.

Awesome little Chain Saw

When I first received this item, the chain was so dull it would not even cut a 1" green limb. After I sharpened the chain I could not be more pleased with the saw. It is light enough to use with one hand if necessary and cuts great.
