Director Winner switched the setting of Chandler's classic Marlowe mystery from 1940s Los Angeles to 1970s London, perhaps to avoid comparison with its forerunner.     Good movie, great actors, I recommend the film and a movie.

    This was an interesting take on Phillip Marlowe. I'm familiar with the character and Mitchum's portrayal was a good one. Jimmy Stewart, even in a rather small part, out-acted them all....a Legends a Legend after all. I recommend the movie and the dealer.
