No complaints for the money spent (£16).This is very similar to one I bought years ago, but with some differences in quality. The fittings are average in quality, and the feel is a bit rough when doing up the nuts. I recommend a few wraps of PTFE (plumbers') tape to ease things along and ensure a good seal without having to rely on tightening alone. The grip features are barely impressed on the grease reservoir (large cylinder) and grease coupling itself, so clean hands are required to turn these. The grease is poor quality, but then you don't buy the gun for the grease. Do you? In use, the gun worked perfectly well, without any faults. Primed easily, with no leaks at the time.

1. The product delivered was not a Hilka grease gun I cannot remember the make now as i have returned it 2 The advert led me to believe it was refillable with a cartridge. I tried several ways of loading the cartridge supplied into the gun and believe that possibly if both ends of the cylinder would unscrew it may have been possible. As supplied I was unable to fit the cartridge into the gun. 3. The advertising on the parcel says it is supplied with cartridges, which to me implies more than one 4. When I opened the cartridge which claims to contain 3 oz. of grease, it did have some grease in but I could see out of the other end. 5 I have returned the product and was highly dissatisfied.

If you only need an occasional grease gun then this one is just the job. It's not too expensive but it seems robust, looks good and appears to be pretty good quality. It has two different length metal extension tubes as well as a flexible pipe, so it's handy to reach into awkward areas such as inner CV joints. There are two screw-on nozzles provided (but no instructions re. whether they are both the same, or just a spare). It comes with a 3oz cartridge of grease supplied which makes it simple to load and potentially also easy and less messy to swap between different types of grease. It can also be packed with grease directly, although this showed up my only complaint. If the grease being used is too thin, then the gun's plunger allows it to squeeze past and then it gets trapped on the other side of the plunger and is forced out when you re-tension the plunger. This is quite messy (defeating one of the benefits of using a gun in the first place) so if possible it's best to use thinner grease especially from a cartridge. On the whole though, pretty good showing from such a cheap item. Read full review

A smaller grease gun, which is fairly easy to use and dispenses smaller amounts of grease, which is perfectly good for use on all the grease points of my motorcycles. It would be fine for larger greasing jobs too, although it would take a little longer. I used the gun with the cartridges and they were fine with little need for bleeding air before using.
