First of all, the audio quality is great; on a par with an iPod, and there is a 7-band equalizer for fine tuning. The buttons are generally user friendly and easy to work, if a bit slow occasionally. A minor niggle is it insists on updating the whole media library every time you download any music, even just 1 track. I have about 1000 songs in my library, which takes a few moments, but it might be a problem if you have 10,000. Apart from that I cannot see much to complain about. Well worth the money.

Does everything I expected from it apart from not playing mp2 files.(hopefully that will get fixed as have a lot of the negative things I had heard of before buying) It seems that Fiio listen to their customers comments and tweak the software to improve the unit. The software upgrade is pretty straight forward and does not affect your content. Sound quality is pretty good for the price. The wheel control is still a bit sensitive but you get used to it.

Great sound for the price. If the x1ii have this quality of sound, i'm very curious to know the top models. In some situations it hangs and you need to power off and power on again to resolve. I think the brand have firmware updates, for resolves this cases.

The FiiO X1ii 2nd generation is a fantastic MP3 player, with suberb build quality & sound reproduction, would definitely recommend this product at this price point ( £99 ), I previously owned an Apple I pod, but I believe the FiiO is equally as good, if not better !!
