This is a very nice driver. I'm sure it will work for alot of people especially if your ball flight(righties) tends to go from left to right. My problem is my ball flight tends to be right to left so for me I had to work way to hard to keep it from hooking. I'm sure had I bought the tour model which is 1 degree open opposed to the neutral model I bought that problem would have been solved. It is long and has a great feel to it but personally I think I like my FT-iQ i-mix head better. The ball flight is pretty high also and for me I already hit the ball high so I was't crazy about that either. As with all clubs what works for one person won't always work for another and though this one didn't quite do the trick for me it is a very good driver that I believe will work for alot of people.
i bought this in the i-mix with a pro launch platinum shaft in stiff flex.it has a good look at address and a good feel.i was hitting a power fade and slice before and im now able to draw the ball again.like with all drivers, getting the right loft and shaft is everything.this combination works well for me with a 106 mph swing.when the weather breaks i will try this head with my other shafts.thats what i like the most about the i-mix.
Excellent club but the Regular shaft is far too flexible. Lightweight and well shaped head probably helps high handicaps in gaining precision. Nice to watch and to use. Unusually unconfortable the head cover. However, comparing it with my previous FT 9, do not sea great advantage and, therefore, will continue to use the FT 9. Would reccomend it only for hcp from 15 to 30, not lower.
I have a 12 handicapp, was once much lower.. 60 + something is my age.. Got the Driver after having played a Diablo for past 2 years.. After a little practice gave it a try.. Hit a 260+ drive on my first hole.. a long par 5.. I had average 240 to 250 with my Diablo Used my Sky Caddy on next par five to measure distance and I was at 278 yards.. in the first cut of rough.. If fairway had been hit..? I haven't a clue where it may have ended up.. distance - wise.. Beautiful looking club.. has nice feel weight and responds/matches up well to the Callaway new I series balls.. AM not sure a scratch Golfer would want this club.. it is so forgiving you have to exaggerate your stance to Draw or Fade .. But for an old-timer like me, or the average golfer, in the mid to high handicapp range.. this club.. FT-iZ is a dream come true.. an BTW it's purdy as all heck...PS I saw a couple negative reviews included for this Club.. for those of you who didn't like this FT-iZ Driver.. you should probably stick with a 3-wood off the tee...Read full review
My driving has been very inconsistent for the past 2 or 3 years as I have advanced to 66 years of age. Playing with a friend of mine, he suggested that I try his driver which was the Callaway FTIZ 9 degree loft and the Aldila Voodo 65 gram shaft stiff flex. I hit his driver so much better than the 3 or 4 I had been trying, I decided to buy one and did so on Ebay. My handicap has gone from 17 to 13 and is dropping still. To be clear, I have been working on all phases of my game, but being able to his more fairways has really helped. I find the Ftiz easy to hit and easy to work the ball. I have added 15 to 20 yards on my AVERAGE drive, which has been the single most improved part of my game.
