These are good. The leds only light when the port is in use, and the power supply has enough power to allow you to use the ports. #1 and #7 can also be used as chargers. I own 2 of them now.

The product is good, but not for high draw peripherals (external hard drives, external blu-ray players, etc). For thumb drives and keyboard/mouse receiver usb dongles it does the job. The power supply is insurance for keeping the hub operating but note my caviat in the beginning of this review. Overall, good but not great!

All ports work flawlessly. I will never run out of USB 3 ports again. I also installed 4 USB 2 ports directly to my motherboard. All from eBay. You have to do your research before buying or you could end up with useless items.

The adapter does not charge very fast. It took more than 2-1/2 hours to charge my phone -- which with my own phone charger takes 1 hour less. This is "not" the fastest charger adapter I have ever purchased. If you are in a hurry to get your phone or laptop charged, then use your own charging cord or adapter that came with your device.

drive connects and disconnects irregardless of switch position, can not be used to connect more than one drive and copy data from one to the other (works a minute than hangs indefinitely) - have not had this problem with 2 other usb 3.0 hubs - this one was cheaper and though it looks nice with the switches and indicator led's i regret this purchase and would not recommend this item if you are looking for a usb3 hub
