Winix 5500-2 is the only air cleaner I've owned, so don't have a lot of knowledge to compare, we live in the country and the wind blows almost all the time, dust is an issue since we have no central HVAC for circulating/filtering air. Since I've started using the unit on Auto mode (about a week), it has stayed on low fan speed (which is noticeable) the whole time and indicating good air quality (Blue indicator), have it located in central part of our living room. I guess only time will tell.
