Accurate portrail of Pirate life.
Storyline is engaging, pre Treasure Island but mainly about gaining control of Nassau, with the characters being a mix of the fictional, Long John Silver, Capt. Flint (not the parrot) and factual, with historical pirates, given some artistic licence. The plot twists and turns, the characters are rounded and well acted and many don't survive (spoiler alert). The first series is slightly slower to get going than the second, but I do think you need to see them in sequence to really know what is going on. There is a lot of swearing and bloody violence throughout, but that may be expected when pirates are involved.
