For a brief moment I thought of making a suggestion to improve the design before a second look showed me that it had already been done ! I can't see what steel and heat treatment was used but I would be surprised if it weren't like 4140 CrMo steel and I don't have access to a Rockwell Hardness tester at the moment. Compare eBay photos of like tools I can see obvious & serious faults already .
