Why these ugly glasses? Because the Oakley crew is genius.
The two big features of these glasses are the bottom based frame and the flip forward lense for venting. I do the triathlon thing but as I don't really have a neck sowhen I'm tucked down in the aero bars, I then have to lift my eyes to look up. Getting rid of the top rail of the glasses eliminate this problem but the lens is big enough there to still gives your eyes shielding. The venting is huge as when you set up your gear at 5 in the morning, your temperature has gone up from the swim and the transition run but your glasses have stayed about the same. The second you put them on they fog. With these the venting allows that space for the temperatures to even out. You then simply push the lens back in.
