The inner and outer splines for the power tool drives properly, however the Shopsmith power accessory coupler has an internal spring to keep horizontal pressure towards the accessory tool. That way, should the power head loosen and move away, the coupler will disconnect from the power head. Without the spring, in the same senario, the coupler could stay connected to the power head and become a missle. This spline adapter is hollow at the center. It should be filled solid.

I bought this for a 20 year old Eurotech compact dryer after I read the Whirlpool shared some parts. I watched your YouTube video and the mechanism looked the same so I followed the eBay link to give it a try. The top part was a bit too wide to fit in my handle but the rest was a perfect fit. So I just made a pull tab with duct tape and it works great! Thanks for the part and the video instructions!

The Seller fixed our Whirlpool WED7500VW dryer door. Part is probably made better than the original. Better type of plastic. Thicker. I suspect less likely to break. Temptedto buy a second as we cannot replace this W&D combo without a laundry room remodel.
