Worse than chewing gum!
Good concept. Way to flimsy. Broke during installation. The screws will break with the smallest amount of torque. You don't want this fastener supporting your railing. Tossed the product in the trash. Ended up dowling and gluing for solid secure joint. Took less time too.

Great product
This is a great product over the other options of hand railing attachments which require drilling holes for bolts and then plugging those exposed holes. It is much faster as well and eliminates the difficult work of tightening bolts through a small hole.

Rails spins
I used this to attach a top rail of a railing to a newel post. It is easy to use. The problem I had was that the railing spun around the fastener. Luckily I was able to prevent the spinning with a piece of trim.
